how many megapixels in 1080p ? 720p ? 480p ? 4K ? What is 4K ? How to calculate megapixels ? how many pixels in 4k ?

Calculating Megapixel of resolution is quite simple but, some people find it difficult and confusing.
Before going to actual content let me tell you that 1080p  is called HD. If your Camera or your smartphone record 1080p videos, then we can say it record full-HD videos. However, some High-end smartphones also record 4K Videos , which is much better quality than 1080p , 720p or say 480p.

What does 4K mean ?

4K is the horizontal display resolution which is about 4000 pixels, Filmmakers and Cinematographers also called it 4K resolution.

Talking about Television ( T.V.)-

If you own a 4K T.V. then you can probably say, that your T.V. has 3840*2160 ( 4K UHD ) High-definition dominant 4K standard resolution.

Which simply means, Go and enjoy watch 4K moments with your families and friends with some salty snacks.

What about Cinema ? (DCI 4K)

In film Industry, Resolution is little bit high than your T.V. say about 4096*2160 (DCI 4K) resolution.
So that you can much higher detailed quality videos or movies.

Calculation of Pixels -

Step 1 : Simply multiply Length and width of the display. ( 720p)

             1280*720 - 720p Video Display

Step 2 : Look at the product.

            1280*720 = 9,21,600 pixels or 0.9 megapixels
Here, you can say that 720p resolution video runs with a 0.9 megapixels image.
Which simply means that , if you saving a image from your 720p video then , resulting image              will be of 0.9 megapixels. ( 720p such a high quality and only 0.9 MPX)

Now you capable of calculating megapixels-

           For 4K -
       Cinema - 4096*2160 =  88,47,360 or 8.8 megapixels
          T.V.-  3840*2160 =  82,94,400 or 8.2 megapixels or simply 8 MPX

           For 1080p -
       1920*1080 = 20, 73 , 600 or 2 megapixels

           For 480p -
        640*480 = 3, 07, 200 or 0.3 megapixels

Thats how, you can calculate megapixels, That should be it.
         Go and try yourself.  Enjoy
