How to take better pictures in night ? low light photography
This is the demonstation of how to take better photos in low light, What I am using is Lumia camera app for windows phone , which has been discontinued by Microsoft.
But the settings in all Smartphone camera will work just as well.
1) Put ISO level to 100 -200 or less ( light senstivity)
Increasing iso means increasing noise in the picture.
Iso Higher than 800 is not good for a normal picture.
Iso less than 100 will not work in night, because you are not allowing
your camera to take good amount of light, which will result in a darker picture.
If u still want to keep your Iso less , Then try a very slow shutter speed like
2s-4s.
2)Choose a Slow shutter speed about 1 second ( Use a tripod for stability)
Shutterspeed is the time for camera's shutter is open for taking more or less light into the sensor.
For DSLR, you can change the Aperture , but you can't change it on your phone.
If your smartphone has OIS, you can easily take photos with slow shutter.
If not , Use a tripod.
3)Increase the exposure value ( EV+)
Also called brightness , Increase it to highest number possible.
It will compensate the Exposure,
For which it is also known as Exposure compensation.
Get Creative with it, But try not to over do it.
4)Manual focus is mandatory
In night or low light conditions camera find it difficult to focus properly,
Because of insufficient amount of light.
Always go Manually, Use manual focus.
Find where you want to focus, Macro or infinity.
5)Done. Now you can shoot some awesome pics in night
